Years ago we were dreaming about a cosy French-Hungarian restaurant evoking the atmosphere of French bistros in Budapest's downtown. We imagined dishes carrying the typical tastes of Hungarian cuisine with some French flavour.
Our dream came true in November, 2008, when we opened Borssó Bistro at the corner of Királyi Pál and Képíró Streets in Budapest. We are delighted that this area has become the heart of the reconstructed downtown by now.
Fortunately, we have found Norbert Kovács, who is our chef now. He is able to create such fabulous specialities that we were dreaming about. High quality ingredients, latest kitchen technologies, creativity and the ability to renew - the things that he finds inevitable in his work. Therefore our menu includes in addition to French cuisine traditional Hungarian food as well, but these are novel in their flavour and appearance, providing a great gastronomic and visual delight. Thanks to its imaginative cuisine Borssó is now ranked among the most renowned restaurants in Budapest.
Besides our seasonally changing menu there are always some special weekly offers on the blackboards and on weekdays we provide our guests with three-course lunch menu.
In a good restaurant it is essential to offer delicious wines as well, that's why we compiled our wine list after careful selection. We regularly hold wine dinners where famous winemakers are invited to present their wines, which are served and tasted along with a 6-8-course dinner created by our chef and accompanied by live jazz music.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Borssó Bistro. Visit us and enjoy the essence of gastronomy.
